ALTA was founded in 1955 by André Latreille, a Quebecbased engineer. From the company’s early involvement in relatively modest projects (schools, churches, commercial

buildings), it quickly moved on to more ambitious challenges in the fields of commercial, industrial, institutional and residential construction. ALTA also became a major player in the civil engineering sphere in Quebec, building bridges, highways, locks, spillways, electrical sub-stations and other infrastructure projects.

Today, while ALTA remains a leader in bridge and viaduc building in Quebec, the company’s expertise now combines the design, planning and completion of projects in all

sectors of construction.
